Stopped here with the family on the way home from Whitby. Lady found us a table tucked away in the corner as we had 2 dogs. We had 2 roast chickens, 1 roast beef and 1 pork roast. All were really filling and tasty. Staff were really friendly.

Dropped in for a quick drink whilst walking the Cinder Path. Quiet but welcoming! Walkability: 5 minutes off the Cinder Path (NCN1) between Whitby and Scarborough.

Called here twice whilst on holiday & cannot fault the food, service or staff. Portions were generous & reasonably priced & the beer was excellent. It seems strange they received such a poor review in the same week we visited, as our experience of The Oak Wheel was nothing but a positive one.

Where do I start? I complained soon as the food arrived. Gamon was absolutely disgraceful. It was still raw and never touched the grill. The fish absolutely stunk the onion rings. Have never seen beer batter if I could rate this pub or restaurant whatever you want to call it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The owner and the bar staff are very rude there customer service needs looking at too honesty be aware if you don’t like the food.
