Friendly welcome. Due to being the only guests we were upgraded, which was lovely. Rooms looked clean, but found previous occupants underwear in the bathroom...... only one mug soon got another. Nice coffee choice of teas in the room. Didn't eat in. Rooms : 3/5 | Service : 4/5 | Location : 4/5 Hotel highlights Great value … More

Food & drinks: Lovely selection of drinks. I had a bottle of Rosé. Very reasonable and a lovely bottle. Black sheep ale was fantastic. Big pints of coke for the non alcoholic drinkers. Food was lush. We had the Korean style chicken for starter and one of our party had soup. All very nice. We all had beef brisket for mains. Beef was falling apart, crispy roasties and lovely vegetable accompaniments. Plenty of gravy. Sticky toffee pudding (the best), warm brownie and affogato for pudding. Absolute perfection.

Lovely meal, very friendly staff. Would recommend 10/10. We didn't stay as we were out with our dog and popped in for lunch, so can't comment on the rooms. The establishment was clean, welcoming and had a cosy lit fireplace. Staff were happy, talkative and even offered a blanket for our dog to sit on. Meal we had was fish and chips and the steak pie. Excellent 👌 we enjoyed it and would definitely come back again.

Popped in on our way elsewhere for a couple of drinks and a bar snack. The barmaid was very friendly and welcoming and the food was great for value, presentation and taste. I hope to return for a longer visit. Service : 5/5 | Location : 3/5 … More
