Very good food at competitive prices. It's not often you see food prepared with such care & attention to detail. I had a scotch egg (runny yolk!) with black pudding, Caesar salad & Belgian chocolate delice. All excellent down to the shiny chocolate on the home made dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant, actually you mustn't miss it!! Parking: Large car park!

This pub is set in such a delightful spot and Drakeholes holds cherished memories to me as a child who, in the early 70s used to visit my grandparents' caravan in a nearby field (which had its own cottage next to the canal). I'm so pleased to see the pub re-open after years of closure. The bar which we used was not in the original part of the building; I don't know what the plans are for the rest of the building. Nice pint in the beer garden overlooking the canal and surrounding fields. I would have loved to have stayed for another.

This is the first time we've visited since it was The Swan. Staff were very attentive although we did have to ask twice for the bill. The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious although we did have to eat it rather quickly because the temperature was lukewarm, I now wish we had sent it back to be brought out hotter but that is my fault. The toilets were clean although I did notice that to get to the disabled toilet you would have had to go down a small step, not sure how easy this would have been in a wheelchair or with walking disabilities? To get into the building staff went out with a steel ramp so a person in a wheelchair was able to enter the building, I'm not sure how easy or dignified this was as I didn't want to turn round and watch. My husband ordered a tea, this came as a teabag in a cup of hot water, he would have preferred a pot of tea. He put the discarded tea bag onto the saucer as he had nowhere else to put the teabag after it'd been in the cup long enough, this caused a puddle of tea in his saucer but then each time he took a sip of tea drips fell into his lap or on the table. There is ample parking but there are about 7 steep steps to walk up to the front of the building.

Fantastic welcome today, we sat outside for an hour in the glorious sunshine before lunch. Glad we booked because it was very busy. We had chosen to sit in the Orangery and what a beautiful room it is. I ordered goats cheese cheesecake and my husband had Scotch egg with black pudding. Both were beautifully presented and were scrumptious. For mains I had rare roast beef and my husband had Leg of lamb. Both came cooked perfectly accompanied by roast potatoes, mash, stuffing, a huge Yorkshire pudding and Spring greens. We had extra cauliflower cheese too!! Just delicious every mouthful. Unfortunately no room for dessert this time but we'll be back!!!! £25 for the 2 courses. Excellent value for money with fresh ingredients and 5*service. Highly recommend The Mucky Duck at Drakeholes. Parking: Huge car park with a flight of steps up to the pub.
