Afternoon Tea at The Montague! I last minute decided we couldn’t leave London without doing a proper tea, and the lovely people at the Montague were able to accommodate us. The vibes were perfect. The terrace is so peaceful, and the view is beautiful. The best part is- the food and tea is endless! You can order more of exactly what you want, and it’s all included. Honestly, it’s very filling and delicious. We did ask for more egg salad sandwiches- I think those were our favorites! Oh, did I mention the chicken they use is halal!

I do not recommend this hotel. For the price you can stay at much better hotels throughout London. The rooms are aging and the bathrooms are poorly constructed, at best. My shower temperature control could not fully rotate without being blocked by the shower on/off handle. As a result, the water was scalding hot. The other person on the trip with me's water was stuck ice cold. Every wall is covered in fabric. Which is charming, until you see it coming up at every corner. Also, beware the bar. It severely over charges. A group of friends and I went out and all go the same drink. The bar tabs totaled anywhere from $28-70. In addition, they add a 12% gratuity to the tab. All of that being said, the staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to help me with my luggage. Nearby activities: British Museum

What a wonderful hotel this is! My husband and I arrived for our two night stay to a lovely little tray of sweets and a nice card from the staff for our anniversary. We are so incredibly thrilled to have booked accommodations here and would absolutely return in a heart beat!

This is my and my family's absolute favorite London hotel! It's the only hotel we stay at when we visit London. There is a sentimental value also attached to the hotel in addition to its excellent location and most of all its excellent staff and management. From our very first visit in 2008, we have always been welcomed with smiles and 1000% guest service, our names and faces are have always been recalled on every visit by everyone which is amazing. Now to the rooms (we usually book a King category): Totally encased jewel boxes which are outfitted with every detail one needs and wants with the finest quality products on offer. To add, the rooms we were fortunate to get overlooked the garden (although not owned by the hotel) so imagine how peaceful it is to sit and look out at that peaceful scene whenever possible. Food is the same: Excellent quality. Their breakfasts are huge, fantastic spreads. And again the staff are the key at The Montague on the Gardens. Because without excellent staff there isn't excellent service and attention to detail. All of these ought to go hand in hand with every hotel stay to assure guests of a most pleasurable stay. Certainly The Montague on the Gardens does this well in our opinion.

Fantastic stay in one of the most comfortable beds we've slept in. Service was superb from moment we walked in until we left, the staff are excellent. Whilst I don't agree with essentially forcing a £15 charge on top of the bill for staff tips, we had no problem paying due to the level of service received. I do however think you should ask at that end of a stay if a guest would like to pay a service tip rather than just add it on a bill after a price is already arranged and then essentially work on making guests feel guilty if they wanted to say no by asking to remove the charge. For that I drop the star rating down. Would I stay again? Yes, no question, but I do think some of the practices currently in place should be revisited to cover all types of guests you may have.
