I photographed a wedding at the Motagu Arms on Friday and the hotel was so fantastic I had to leave a review. Obviously the hotel and gardens are beautiful, it's in an amazing location, and the food is delicious (seriously, it's incredible), but that wasn't what made the hotel so special, it was the staff. Throughout the day I chatted with housekeeping, gardeners, front of house, bar staff, waiters and managers, and it was obvious they truly care. All the staff were proud of their work (rightly so!), and there was a real sense of camaraderie. The team worked together and went above and beyond for the wedding, which made it even more special for the couple and their guests. I'm planning to come back as a guest as the hotel impressed me so much.

We stayed here as a family and had booked 2 rooms. They had actually called us to inform us that the rooms we booked weren't near each other due to the layout at the hotel and offered us 2 rooms that were both in the garden section where one of the rooms was situated. So even before arrival we had a great impression about the service as this means they are actually checking their bookings to ensure they are good and that groups of people have booked room types near to each other Check-in was easy and the hotel has fantastic gated private parking The breakfast was superb, perhaps one of the best hotel breakfasts you can find The rooms were fantastic, we had booked rooms in the garden section of the hotel. The garden itself is majestic and professionally done you feel almost as if you are in Exbury gardens The location of the hotel is conveniently close to activities you can reach by walking and by driving. With also great restaurants nearby both in walking and easy driving distances A morning or evening stroll at the Beaulieu River nearby is a highly recommended as well Service at the hotel was superb throughout the stay, the first room we had, had issues with the aircon. Staff were very professional about this and checked it out for us and apologised for the inconvenience and were able to offer us another room with functioning aircon The entire hotel design and layout is very romantic but also very luxurious with lovely bathroom amenities in the rooms What is especially great is that the rooms are setup for year-round stays. With heating units in the room, heated floors in the bathroom and with aircon units in the room for summer stays Will definitely be staying here again in the future Picture included is from the breakfast dining room to part of the garden area of the hotel (the outdoor dining/drinking area of the garden)
