this reataurant has nothing Mongolian about it at all apart from 1 guy who might be Mongolian doing some cooking. the ingrdients are chinese takeaway stuff, the sauces are chinese and thai and indian. the spices they use are Indian. and quite frankly the stir fry they do i could have done a better job at my wok at home. real disappointment!!

It's okay. The idea is that you pick your vegetables, meat and spices into a bowl. Then it gets cooked in front of you. The disadvantages of this are; you handle raw meat with only the toilets to clean your hands and if you are not a very good with flavours from the spices then the result of the meal is okay at best. I am glad I went to the Mongolian grill but I don't think I will be going back.

The Mongolian Grill is a pretty cool place for dates or office meals because of the novelty. However; it also gives you the opportunity to be a pain to people you don't even know. Let me explain. You load up a plate with raw vegetables and meats from a table filled with them. You add sauces and spices from bowls. If you don't know how to cook, helpful recipes are pinned to the wall. When you're done, you hand over your raw ingredients to the burly guy manning the grill. You end up with a new bowl filled with your cooked creation. Good idea in principle but... As your ingredients are cooked, they get moved along the grill from right to left. This gives your food a slight taste of whatever went before you. The guy before you wants fish? Your dish will taste fishy. Me? I like spicy. Really spicy. The woman after me... not so much.

The idea of this place is excellent - you get to put your own dish together, complete with meat, vegetables, sauces and herbs, and watch it cooked in front of you. Unfortunately this might also be it's biggest downfall, since you're likely to end up with something atrocious if you don't know what you're doing - we definitely didn't know what we were doing! The staff are lovely, and chatty and friendly, although we went when it was extremely quiet so in busy periods that's likely not the case. Food was generally ok, but the oil used to cook the food had something in it that I don't like (I'm not sure what) which gave the rest of the dish a taste I hated. My partner had no problem with it, so it's just a matter oft tastes, but I don't think I'd go back!
