I had my IUD put in place today. Because I haven’t been there before, the doctor say me and asked about both my medical and sexual history. I wasn’t allowed to let my partner in unfortunately due to covid but still had a lovely experience. Had a lovely nurse who came in and helped ease the process.

Had the implant removed and a new one inserted , the nurse was professional , kind and attentive . She quickly and gently removed the implant , inserted the new one and sent me on my way, with barely a bruise to show. With a booked appointment I was seen quickly. Couldn't fault them.

I booked an appointment for the family planning clinic, which is now integrated with sexual Health/GUM clinic. I was not there for sexual health screening and said i did not need any sexual health tests, but the nurse still insisted on unnecessary tests and embarrassing questions and lecturing which made me feel anxious and stressed. I was also not aloud to have another person in the room with me which added to my stress. I feel family planning and GUM/sexual health should be kept separate to avoid this treatment from happening. I strongly feel they should consider changing their procedure, also very understaffed and takes weeks to get an appointment.

After arriving the minute clinic opened, still had to wait over three hours for them to find and provide the pill and then further insisting on unnecessary tests and lectures. A very backwards clinic. Alternative is £30 plus paperwork for a single pill in Boots. In France it's €7 and provided within five minutes. GG united kingdom. Although staff are friendly, the clinic is highly understaffed with inefficient service.
