    We hired The Mill House and booked Charlie to run an art party for our son's 6th birthday. Around 3 days before, we had to postpone as our son was poorly and we were worried we wouldn't be able to go ahead. Charlie was amazing about it and went out of her way to be flexible with rebooking. When the party came around it was brilliant. The space works very well - there is a mini kitchenette that is really well stocked with utensils and crockery as well as ovens, microwave, kettle. It all ran really smoothly and Charlie managed to keep 18 5 and 6 year olds completely engaged for a full hour! I can't recommend Charlie enough and am trying to persuade my daughter to have her 5th birthday there already. Thank you for a magical afternoon x

    We hired the space for our daughter's 5th birthday party and it was lovely. The kitchen is really well stocked for parties, there is everything you need in terms of tables and chairs for parties, and all of our guests commented on how lovely and light the venue is. Oh, and Charlie, the owner, was super lovely. We will definitely consider booking again.

    We recently hired Mill House for my daughters 3rd birthday and I couldn’t recommend it enough, absolutely perfect! The venue has everything you will possibly need including tea and coffee and plenty of chairs and tables. The most amazing part for me was the children’s chairs and tables as it meant I didn’t have to hire these separately. Can’t believe how easy it was book and the value for money is amazing! Will definitely be booking for every event I have from now on.

    Hired the space out for my daughters first birthday. Charlie was so lovely and helpful answering all my questions. The room was perfect; very spacious, simple and had every facility you would ever need for a baby party. Charlie was very flexible in how I used the space. I was able to decorate with a summer / flamingo theme and the white / simple decor just allowed me to make it our own. The cupboards were well equipped with chairs and tables; for the babies there were high chairs and a changing table with spare wipes and nappies in the bathroom; kitchen had a fridge to store the cake, there was a kettle and tea bags. Charlie has literally thought of everything!!! The price per hour was very reasonable - I did my research! Other spaces require compulsory meal purchase per person - I wanted to keep it simple with some snacks and didn’t fancy paying so much for a few hours, especially when most of my guests were more likely to throw their food on the floor than consume. I will be using for all my events in the future. I highly recommend.

Charlie was kind and helpful and answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend as a great location for events or classes.

    Charlie at the Mill House has built an incredible creative business here with so many different elements that are such a refreshing change to the usual overly commercial options for kids activities and birthday parties. We did a tie-dye birthday party with Emma who magnificently managed 15 or so excited and rowdy 6 year olds. They all loved the day and came away with wonderful self-designed t-shirts to remember it all. It's great to have something like this in Hertford and what I love is that Charlie is also really focussed on supporting other local small businesses and Hertford residents. Amazing.

    I held a workshop at The Mill House, it was super easy to check a availability and book online. Charlie was fantastic and got in touch to make sure I had everything I needed. I was able to use all the tables and chairs and the kitchen area was great for organising refreshments. We were able to have low lighting which created a gorgeous atmosphere and everyone of my delegates complimented the venue. I’ll definitely be booking again! Very happy.
