It's a great open space, free parking, takes about 45 minutes to walk it all the way round, it was very clean and workmen clearing the area, great dogwalk on lead, local swans are fearless and escorted us of the premises towards the end or maybe he justed wanted to be a friends..

Beautiful little walk around the mere with the kids. Stopped off for icecream and duck food in the mere cafe. They take card payments which is handy and the car park is free. Drive slowly as you'll be surrounded by geese! Lots of wildlife to be seen including a whole brood of cygnets.

Once 40 acres in size, but when the railway came in 1844, Scarborough's Mere was reduced to make way for the tracks. After WWI, it was transformed into a park, though smaller at half the size. Today, it remains a haven for nature & a delightful place for a quite stroll.

I've been coming to this place for years as its close by where I live. Its a pleasant walk around the large lake come winter or summer . It gets very muddy in areas so bear in mind with what footwear you have on. I'd love to see more benches here so you can just sit and watch the swans and bird life.
