Alan fixed my grandads watch for me that has great sentimental value. He took amazing care of it and restored it to working order. Can’t recommend anyone better to help fix your watch. Lovely service.

Excellent Service. I am extremely happy with the service. I had two old clocks that needed looking at. Needed cleaning and a service. A little French mantle clock and my Grandfather's Grandfather clock. Both of these clocks being nearly 200 years old. When I made my enquiries I was told that they could be done but there was a long wait as he was so busy. This was April and he was straight with me and said it's likely to be Christmas. I had made several enquiries to various places and not got on very well and so was looking further afield and found Alan. I am pleased I did. So the man was extremely busy. In my mind that meant he must be good at what he does. I got the clocks over to the shop. Had a couple of emails over the months and finally got the call to collect. I collected Christmas eve with a big grin on my face. Just before collection the main spring went on the little one. So he made a new one. The price was a good price. It's now middle of January and both clocks are keeping excellent time and sounding good. Even the neighbours know what time it is with the big one lol. Now waiting for the heads up if ever he gets a quieter spell so that I can take a couple of watches to him. I cannot fault the service.

Alan at The Menders is a true expert and enthusiast. He did a great job overhauling my 1960s Omega for a very reasonable price - it is now running -4sec a day! I couldn’t be happier!

Alan is one of the loveliest men - I’ve been dealing with him for my watches for nearly 25 years. With his knowledge of secret watchmaking witchcraft he’s got a couple going that the expensive place in town gave up on and wanted to replace the whole movement. Most recently he’s bought a family heirloom back to life and sensitively cleaned it making it look nice whilst retaining the time-worn marks that my male relatives left on it over the last century. Always good to chat Alan - see you soon.
