She has an excellent range of egg-free and gluten free options and she managed to accommodate an order for me with bespoke decorations in her signature style. I found The Maplewood Bakery via Google and looked at the reviews, which were great. The location was close to my wedding venue which was perfect. Eleanor was luckily available for our chosen date and we arranged to meet for a cake tasting, which was a wonderful experience. On the day of the wedding, she baked a beautiful three tiered cake - Maple, Fig & Pecan, Strawberry & Vanilla Bean and Raspberry, Passionfruit & White Chocolate. Everyone loved all of the flavours. I ordered a set of cupcakes and brownies from the Maplewood Bakery to take into work. They were extremely quick and efficient (I ordered on Tuesday, picked up everything on Wednesday and took them into the office on Thursday). Everything was very well received by all of my colleagues. There was a wide selection of options that catered to pretty much everyone (different flavours, vegan and gluten-free options). Some quotes from my colleagues: 'I've never had a refreshing cupcake before' (Strawberry Cupcake) 'That's the best brownie I've ever had in my life' (Vegan Brownie) Would definitely recommend.

Eleanor made our dream wedding cake come to life! She gave us sample tasters of every cake flavour and it was quite difficult to choose as all the flavours were delicious. Eleanor designed and baked our Wedding cake and it was absolutely beautiful. The cupcake tower with a small cake to cut on top looked amazing, as did the floral arrangements she provided on the cakes. We were blown away when we saw the cakes for the first time at the venue and everyone commented on how delicious they were. Would highly recommend!

When my partner and i decided to get married, we found Maplewood bakery. Due to covid we had a consultation on the phone with Eleanor. Eleanor was very warm and welcoming and was able to cater for our very specific needs (one of us gluten free and one nut free, but dreaming of a tiered cake...what a combo eh!) Eleanor was absolutely outstanding when covid restrictions hit and we decided to rearrange to wedding in 24 hours. We thought that with such short notice we would may not have a cake at our wedding but Eleanor went over and beyond to ensure we had our dream cake. She baked and created it that very evening and it was the most delicious cake, we had so many glowing comments from our guests about how marvelous it was! Added bonus was how reasonably priced it was too! The biggest thank you to Eleanor at Maplewood. Not only did she bake a cake she made memories. Would most definitely recommend.
