I love the food at the Mandarin! Tonight we ordered a takeaway/ collection and it didn't quite reach the usual high standard as too much oil. Especially the mock duck! We are trying to be healthy so I think we will have to avoid for a while, which is such a shame.

Dont write many reviews but thought I would for this one as to make peeps aware of our experience Went as soon as it opened and the doorman said if we had reservation and because we didnt had asked if we could have table back within 1hr 30 mins which wasnt an issue. We sat on our own and after the 1hr 30 mins was still on our own so not sure why mentioned it to us? When the bill came was surprised how much it was and its my fault really i should have checked and questioned the bill at the time and was charged £13 for one pint of beer and £6 for a lemonade which is expensive. When looking on the website it looks like it should have been half the price so looks like they were trying to push the bill up and charged us for extra drinks that we didnt order. If it was busy I could understand mistakes can happen but it was early and empty Was also charged £3.50 for prawn crackers which many restaurants give complimentary To top it they do charge a 10% service charge which I didnt mind as the food and service was good but would have been nice if they asked rather than just add to the bill At least from this experience I have learned that you should check and double check your bill as not all restaurants are honest
