We were lucky enough to run into the groundskeeper on our walk, who kindly escorted us to see this magnificent tree. However, it is extremely important to be aware that the tree is on private property. There are no rights of way that will allow you to see the tree and you can only get to it if you meet someone by chance who can let you into the grounds. The tree itself is spectacular, however, the fact it is on private property with no public access, and it is only through the landowner's kindness that you can see it means it cannot get the full five stars. I cannot recommend that you go out of your way with the intention of seeing this tree, as you may leave disappointed. Despite this there are footpaths around the property where you can see other ancient oaks that are still delightful.

Beautiful and interesting and well worth a visit. The info online about how to visit it is frustratingly incomplete. The nearest place to park I found was the cricket club and I'm not even sure I was allowed to park there. Then walk up the private road with the playground to your left. At the top of the hill there are a few enormous horse chestnut trees also worth a look. To the right is the gate onto the private estate. It says no entry. I went in anyway and suspect there is an alarm or maybe just the dogs that are there knew I'd come in because Mick the gamekeeper turned up. I asked politely if I could see the tree and he took me off down the path to the left, past a giant redwood! and on to Majesty. He gave me a very informative tour. It was terrific.

It was a bit difficult to get to the tree, hence 4 stars. It is on a private land and it wasn’t clear who to ask for to let us in. one lady from a private property simply sent us back and didn’t help. however, after walking back to the playground we went back and knocked to green door (on the left upon entry the private property) . The old lady with her dog kindly escorted us to the tree and it was worth our efforts! The tree is quite impressive and huge like sequoia Sherman tree in california.
