FAQ
What type of choir do you have and what is the style of music that is typically performed?
We have a mixed choir that performs a variety of musical styles, including classical, contemporary, and traditional pieces. The style of music we perform depends on the occasion and the preferences of the audience. We aim to provide a diverse repertoire that showcases the talents of our singers. How often do you rehearse and perform, and what are the expectations for choir members?
We typically rehearse once a week for two hours, with additional rehearsals scheduled as needed before performances. Our choir members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and be prepared to learn and practice their parts outside of rehearsals. We perform several times a year, including at local events and concerts. We expect our choir members to be committed to the choir and to work collaboratively with their fellow singers to achieve high-quality performances. What is the cost to join the choir and are there any additional fees for performances or materials?
The cost to join our choir is £50 per term, which covers the expenses of our rehearsal space, sheet music, and other materials. There are no additional fees for performances, but we do ask our members to provide their own concert attire. What is the process for auditioning and joining the choir, and what level of experience is required?
To audition for our choir, interested individuals can contact us through our website or attend one of our rehearsals. We welcome singers of all levels of experience, but we do ask that they have some basic music reading skills. During the audition, singers will be asked to perform a short piece of their choosing and to complete a brief music theory quiz. We want to ensure that our choir members have a basic understanding of music so that we can work on more advanced pieces together. Can you provide references or examples of past performances, and what type of venues does the choir typically perform in?
We have performed at a variety of venues, including churches, community centers, and local festivals. Some of our past performances have included holiday concerts, a cappella competitions, and collaborations with other local choirs. We have received positive feedback from our audiences and have been invited back to perform at many of these venues. We can provide references upon request and also have videos of some of our past performances on our website.Reviews

Terry Savage
The very best West Gallery Band and Quire. Concerts cover Christmas, Harvest, Village Life. Their last 'gig' was a workshop and 1662 Evensong at St Denys Church, Southampton and this was enjoyed by all.
