Just had a delicious meal here - chicken liver pâté came with hot chunky brown bread toast and lovely caramelised onion chutney. Fish pie was really tasty and the steak and ale pie also, which was packed with meat. The creamed veg was gorgeous! Wonderful service - the food arrived quickly and was piping hot and all staff were really friendly and cheerful. We will definitely come again!

Beautiful mediaeval inn located in the charming little hamlet of Litten. They brew their own beer out the back (tastes amazing), they serve unbelievably tasty home-made pies with triple-cooked chips and they are incredibly friendly. That is all you need to know. 😊 Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

Called here for Sunday dinner in this dog friendly establishment. We were seated in the small dining room which was warmed by a log burner. The service was friendly. We ordered two pork and one beef dinner and Haddock, chips and peas. Chips were fantastic, peas good, haddock decent and just enough. Roast potatoes were excellent as was the cauliflower cheese. The pork was overcooked and lacked quantity the poor beef lacked even more in quantity and the gravy needs work. The cauliflower cheese was plentiful but the other veg lacking, Yorkshire pudding small and average. Boltmaker served quite cool, which I prefer, but didn't quite clear yet tasted decent, £4-40 a pint. The bar area had a small number of dining tables and had a much better ambience.
