After much searching online I thankfully came across Dean Ashton I felt that he had the approach that I was looking for and on our first meeting he did not let me down. A natural with dogs, and packs in a whole load of helpful information that I could take away and put into action each and every day. I would LOVE to share with you, our experience working with Dean and I’m sorry I hadn't done it sooner. Dean helped me with my German Shepard x Rotty (Bear )when she started displaying difficult behaviours. He showed me ways of teaching and understanding her! And was always available when I was unsure or I’d lost a little confidence in myself! I’m very happy to say! Like the other reviews, Dean really is that good. Incredibly smart and understands dogs behaviours in a way I’ve never seen. He makes it really fun and is ultimately training us humans. Dean is a wealth of good ideas and information! He is such a supportive and caring trainer and I cannot recommend him enough! I’ve been with Dean for less than a year now, since Lumi 🐶 was 6 months old. He helped us with multiple issues, ranging from how to help Lumi 🐶 relax at home, to his obsession with leaves, walking on a lead, and how to help him not be afraid of other dogs after being attacked. Dean held my hand and Lumi’s paw whenever we needed help and provided insights that I carry with me whenever I feel challenged as a pet parent. Thank you!

When we brought home our beagle puppy, we didn’t quite know what we were in for! We luckily came across Dean and did 10 puppy sessions with him - the best investment we have ever made! Dean gave us all the tools and knowledge to help us forge a positive bond with our new pup and taught us humans how to communicate with him effectively. We did a few top up lessons with Dean over the years too, but because we had such in depth training with him at the start, any new problems became a breeze to resolve quickly. For example, our now 7-year-old beagle started barking at guests incessantly coming through the door. After one quick phone conversation with Dean, he reminded us that we already had the tools to resolve this and so we came up with a game plan together. After just one guest visited us, we resolved the barking entirely thanks to Dean’s help. Dean is the gold standard and I would recommend him highly.

Stan, had terrible car anxiety. He would do everything he could to avoid getting in the car, then when he was in the car he would shake and pant uncontrollably. It made me so anxious! It’s really difficult to put into words what Dean did. I think the easiest way to describe it is to say that he helped me feel more confident about my ability to manage the situation, (Stan’s my first ever dog). I had become incredibly anxious about stan being anxious. It’s taken several months of hard work, doing the things Dean very patiently taught me to do, but it’s really paid off. Thank you Dean.

We went to Dean with our Romanian Rescue to make sure we got started training her in the right foot and he was so very helpful. He made sure we knew lots of fun and positive ways to build engagement and help her to pick good behaviour. He was on hand to help many times when we had questions afterwards and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
