I’m a big cake lover and I’m sad to write that I found the slice of cake I ate huge disappointment. I visited on a Friday so I did expect there to be less choice, however there was literally just one cake to choose from. The vanilla and berry cake sponge was very dry to point where I questioned whether it was actually stale. There was barely any buttercream filling in between the two sponges and next to no fruit. The sausage roll was absolutely delicious. Great flavour and wonderful pastry - just perfect! If I had travelled across London for the sausage roll I’d rate higher, however I wanted a slice of a famous, delicious Lily Vanilli cake. Sadly this I didn’t get. Maybe I just happened to visit on a bad day.

Lily Vanilli is my go-to for any personal cake orders. I probably order 3-4 a year for friends and family members birthdays, it's the best cake out there. The sponge is as light as feather and the Italian meringue buttercream is not too sweet and a little bit salty which creates the perfect balance. Recently, I had a business event that I was planning, and I was in need of a cake. It was always going to be LV. I'd never had a bespoke cake made and had no idea on what the design should look like. The communication between myself and the LV team was very limited, a couple of emails at most. Our Event was last night. I felt worried during the day having not seen a brief or anything and had only projected details on colour but was overjoyed when I opened the box, the cake was just unbelievable. We are a corporate company so we couldn't go too crazy with the design, so we asked for classic and that's what we got. Our company logo was hand piped and the frosting was matched to our organisation's pantone colours. The cake was the real focal point for our event, and it tasted just as good as the smaller cakes I had ordered previously. Thank you to Lily and the team, you remain unbeaten for me!
