For less than the price of a pint of beer or a takeaway coffee per week you can join this absolute gem of a library. Not only do you get access to 140,000 books, but there are DVDs, CDs, ebooks etc. You can soak up the peaceful ambience of the extraordinary building in which the library is housed: it’s open 6 days a week and is the perfect spot to sit down for a coffee if you are in the city centre. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. And this is an institution looking to its future: it has just acquired the building next door to expand. There are also events: a film club; reading groups; poetry sessions. You can even get married here!

I love going here It's nice and quiet but things are changing. As a subscription library they are letting people come in all they have to do is sign visitors book .they do not have full access to all floors and cannot take out any books on loan. But as a paid member l do not like this so might cancel my subscription and use it like any one else.
