I really enjoyed doing the NNAS Bronze Award with Ben. The information he provided beforehand was clear; Ben created an enjoyable and relaxed learning environment; he catered well for members of the group with different ability levels; and there was a good mix between theory sessions inside and practical experience outside. Ben was careful to get the members of the group to introduce themselves at the outset, and the three of us on the course got on very well together as a result. We covered all aspects of the NNAS Bronze syllabus and occasionally, where appropriate, went beyond it. Ben offers a very good combination of expert knowledge and experience on the one hand, along with, on the other, very good teaching methods which are underpinned by his training and experience as a school teacher. I am very happy that I have already booked to do the NNAS Silver Award with Ben.

We have just had a fabulous day in the Langdales with Ben. Although we’ve walked in the Lakes for many years we wanted to develop our navigation skills (to put an end to all those frustrating walks where we’ve missed our way). Ben’s patient instructions and support were exactly what we needed and had hoped for: we wish we’d done this years ago! We asked Ben The Lakes Mountaineer to take us trad climbing for 2 days in the Lake District and we had the most amazing time and some of the best climbing experiences ever ! There's nothing Ben doesn't know, he is experienced, knowledgable and very professional. He took us up multiple pitches in Wallow Barrow and Raven Crags and taught us so many new techniques and how to do things safely and properly.
