The Isaac Walton hotel is in a beautiful location and the staff were friendly and the food was ok at best..… However our mattress in our room was very hard and very uncomfortable and me and my partner had zero sleep and got up the following morning with our bodies aching which ruined our time at the hotel as we were very tired and in pain the next day. We are still waiting for the general manager to contact us to discuss the matter and that was nearly 1 week ago….. Update after speaking to the manager he has refused to refund any money for the terrible nights stay we had.

I was amazed to find that I could not purchase a decaffeinated latte from an establishment with 2 AA rosettes and 3 AA stars. I have been going there for years to enjoy food and coffee but they have now got a machine that makes the coffee and it can not offer me a decaffeinated latte. I find it amazing as even local small cafes can offer the facility for me but a top hotel can not.

Great place to visit on your walk to the stepping stones, with children and dogs. Lovely gardens and delicious food. They also allow visitors to park your car here instead of at the NT car park for just £6. Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

Peaceful due to its location, in the middle of nowhere which is my idea of heaven. This hotel works but mainly through its staff who are all absolutely delightful, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much. Rooms are adequate and very comfortable but beware of fruit flies which were rampant in our bathroom (room no. 1). Breakfast is very good but evening dinner lacks quantity and is very expensive, suffice to say, after one meal we did not eat here again in the evening during our 3 night stay. All in all, very satisfactory despite my gripes. Would definitely consider staying here again. Great for all you walkers/hikers as there are many walks just a step or two outside of the hotel.
