So the venue and food is excellent... service very poor and the New Zealand sav blanc was not chilled... so why it got 3 stars... if the sorted the non attentive waiting staff out it would be 5 stars

Firstly the food was amazing. However the service was appalling, it took 30 mins to get our menus, and they forgot the vegetarian option after being asked. Drinks took and hour to arrive. After finally getting our main course, one of us asked for extra sauce which didn’t arrive until 25 mins later after the food had been eaten, and it only managed to get to our table because one of our party saw three members of staff running round asking who’s it was. Every meal took an hour to arrive, one of our party had to leave before being served there dessert. After leaving we spoke to the head member of staff and stating all the problems. However when we got back we received an email from the website we booked through saying that we had apparently not turned up to our booking! Not worth the money, and I’m sorry for the chefs who makes some delicious food being let down by there front of house.

I would give zero stars if I could! The Ivy chain is now little more than a Frankie and Benny's set-up. It trades on its West Street reputation and sadly people fall for it. It was a diabolical shambles from start to finish, with the worst customer service we've ever had in a restaurant: apalling bad attitude of one waitress, slow service, uncooked food we had to send back, incorrect drinks orders, no offer of wine/water, ice lemon, no offer of tea/coffee, slimy tepid luke creme brulee... I could go on and on. Manager could barely speak English, so trying to resolve the issues was near on impossible. Avoid this place like your life depends on it.

The Ivy 1917 breakfast blend is too light. Potatoes are overseasoned, other fry up items are well done, disappointed that they don't cook eggs to your preference. I ordered white bread but was served brown bread with my food, but at least the lady is quick to bring my order of white bread while I also get the brown breads for free (I still prefer white breads) before I said anything. Didn't have enough time to try the desserts menu and the afternoon tea blend, maybe I will give other branches a try too.

(Translated by Google) OLD-STYLE BRUNCH Brunch in elegant Kensington. We book at The Ivy, a decidedly British place, very refined and elegant in its sophisticated old style. Here, booking is almost a must. The staff, very kind and impeccable, accompanies us to our table. A bottle of water and a couple of glasses. A The Ivy Collection Champagne and a The Ivy Royale composed of gin, hibiscus flowers, blackthorn juice, rosewater, vermouth and completed with champagne. Very good. To pass the wait, an Appetizer that we choose from their Starters and that we know is delicious. A sort of perfectly soft and crunchy focaccia served still steaming and accompanied by salted butter. We would have eaten kilos and kilos of it. And now the two main dishes. A Steak tartare and an evergreen, Fish & Chips. The tartare consists of a knife-edged fillet of beef with mustard, gherkins, shallots, egg yolk and with slices of toasted wholemeal bread on the side of the plate. If necessary, some tabasco to make everything more aggressive. As a side dish, a Baby gem salad, a mini portion of lettuce, herbs, cheese and pine nuts. What about Fish & Chips? Normally reliable choice, in this place much more. A long fillet of crispy battered cod served with pea purée and good matchstick chips, but thicker than usual. Dish accompanied by a cup of tartare sauce to combine with both cod and chips. All very good and served in a timely and impeccable manner. We close our brunch with a dessert to share. Here we fly high with a Chocolate Bombe. A delicious sphere of dark chocolate served at the table and on which a boiling salted caramel sauce is then poured which delicately melts the sphere, bringing to light the vanilla ice cream inside. Very, very caloric, but very good. A couple of coffees and the bill. The total expense is equal to 100 pounds (the fixed percentage linked to the cost of the service must always be considered) which corresponds to approximately 115 euros. In this case we are dealing with a restaurant belonging to a very famous chain of restaurants throughout London and beyond, often frequented by British stars. Local that offers a refined cuisine that uses raw materials of the highest quality, in a decidedly chic location and with a British service that makes everything very pleasant. (Original) BRUNCH OLD STYLE Brunch nell'elegante quartiere di Kensington. Molto bene.
