A fantastic charity with a core group of devoted proffessionals and a host of dedicated volunteers. The mentor training was superb (even emerging from lockdown with some sessions on line) and comprised of volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and genders. The operations are very efficient and well run, support and guidance for mentors is excellent. Even with impressive public awareness there is still a shortage of volunteer mentors so publicising this is very important. The charity has impressive and far reaching future plans with work beginning on a new custom built activity centre due shortly.

A great team of people who helped bring confidence out in my son. They worked hard to build a relationship with my son and myself. During corona and the lockdown it has been so nice to have someone there to offer support, advice and tips, sending weekly activities and care packages, from food essentials to games for my son. The weekly phone calls to check in make me feel like I'm not alone, and supported. Thank you to everyone at The Island for everything you do.
