I enrolled on this course with the intention of just brushing up my skills and my confidence in working on clients. I have loved every minute of my journey with The Institute of Makeup Artistry. I initially started out wanting to learn makeup for weddings and photography, but thanks to this in-depth and varied course, I now have a taste for theatre and possibly TV work. The modules are easy to follow, and the videos help explain techniques concisely. Although some of the modules are challenging, they allow you to push yourself out of your comfort zone and see what you are really capable of. This course is a must for all budding makeup artists.

The Institute of Makeup Artistry opened my eyes to a whole world where I had only previously touched the surface. This certificate course is informative, from colour theory to bridal makeup; to stage makeup to how to create an invoice. Everything that a Makeup Artist would need in their new career. I did my course completely online, in and out of lockdowns. The modules are written clearly and intuitively, and the videos are easy to follow. You also work one on one with a Tutor as well as access to Student Support. It was very helpful as I like to ask a lot of questions.

Before I started this course, I was very sceptic about an online course, I talked with a lot of IMUA students and graduates, and every one of them told me the same thing, that I should try it and that it is a great course. It was amazing to take part in it, and now I can say I highly recommend this course, yes it is great, and I learned a lot. I am very confident in my makeup skills, and I appreciate all of the students help and of course, I want to thank my amazing tutor Emer for all her help and support. We all are like a big family thanks to the Facebook Group, and I received everybody's help when I asked for it. It definitely changed my life for the better, and I really loved every part of it. To anyone looking into pursuing a career in the Makeup Industry and considering this course, don't think twice about it! I have always wanted to do a course like this and have never found one that suited me before until I found this one. It is comprehensive, fun and entirely worth the time and money! My personal favourite parts of the course were the High Fashion module and the Prosthetic module - they were incredibly enjoyable. I truly feel that this course will stand me in good stead for the career that I want to get into, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enter the exciting world of the Makeup Industry. My tutor Cathy was outstanding. She provided constant support and encouragement and was incredibly thorough and helpful with any constructive criticism that she sent my way through her marking. After backing out of a face-to-face programme, I spent a good few weeks looking for the right makeup course for me. I came across The Institute of Makeup Artistry, and I know reading through the prospectus, it was what I was looking for. I started this course with a passion and flair for makeup. I wanted to hone the craft and channel my love for makeup into something that could potentially become a career. I loved the way the modules were set out; they were incredibly informative, and I found the combination of theory and practical assignments a good choice. My tutor, Emer, was fantastic too - she was always supportive, and her fair and positive feedback kept me going. I've learned so much, and I realised I was better at makeup than I thought. The Facebook group has been such great support too, and all the students and graduates are lovely. I would recommend this course to anyone without a doubt. Thank you so much!

I really enjoyed this course! It was a great distraction from the Covid-19 pandemic! I work in the theatre sector, which can be very busy, but I was always interested in stage makeup yet was worried about doing a full-time course. So, finding this course was a wonderful surprise! The flexibility that IMUA offers is fantastic; my tutor was encouraging, understanding, and supportive. The Student Support was efficient and helpful, and it was lovely to interact with other students via the Facebook group. The information from the textbooks and videos were really informative and detailed, and I would definitely recommend this course to anyone!

I absolutely loved studying with the IMUA, the modules are packed full of information, step by step videos as well as hints and tips. The structure of the modules ensures any budding MUA will graduate the course with the skills and confidence in many different genres.
