Really disappointing. We love the hungry guest deli, but this cafe just doesn’t work. The standard between the deli and the cafe are wildly different and seem like totally different brands. We ordered 3 breakfasts, all far too expensive for what they were/tasted like and 2 of the 3 orders were wrong. I had chorizo on my breakfast which I assumed would be fresh and cooked but it was packet chorizo cut up into strips. When we went to order, only our drinks order was taken and then the waiter left, and proceeded to take everyone else’s drinks and food order that came in after us. We then said 3 times we’d actually like to order food as well and then ended up eating after the tables that arrived after us. We love the hungry guest deli and we always accept the high prices of this as produce is fresh and service is great. But this cafe can’t be charging what it is with quality and service like this. A shame but maybe this will improve.

Disappointing, the menu is limited, expensive and not the best quality. Visited the cafe a number of times when in the centre of Petworth and used to be a lot better.

This was a disappointing visit. I was impressed with the cafe when I first visited but it seems to have gone downhill. I had a small round quiche - quite nice in taste but very watery - I can see how this could happen with spinach but it should be possible to create something that works. It was very crumbly and fell apart on the rather small plate so was difficult to eat. The salad was a small pile of rocket. I couldn't believe the price for this - £12.95. £3 for peppermint tea is what you might expect for a pricey cafe but the teabag (presented in the cup still in its packaging) was separate form the tiny pot of water where it could have been infusing. It was so weak that I struggled to get enough flavour for more than one tiny tea cup. Unfortunately the ambience wasn't great either. The waitress was friendly and helpful but most of the time was chatting across the tables to her friend (who was there as a guest) while she sprayed and wiped them. This was distracting and I had to move tables to get away from them. Not the ambience I'd expect from the hungry guest in the past.

An expensive 'farm-type' shop in an expensive town, but worth a visit. However, their nearby Cafe is highly overpriced, a toasted sandwich £12.95 with two salad choices , or £14.95 with 3...really really daft. At least the Cowdray park cafe and farm shop just 3 or 4 miles away has really good choices for the money.
