A hospitality venue can be quickly judged by the welcome from their staff and quality of the waiter/ess and The Hook rose to the occasion at our visit on Thursday 4 May. Credit for this goes to Amy who took our orders and served us. What a delightful, smiley, fun young lady she was; helpful throughout, did not rush us, but gave prompt service when we needed it on our table of 4. She really helped make this a lovely evening. Thanks Amy.

A nice place for a relaxed Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was clean and looked well presented. The menu offerings were good, too. The broccoli and Stilton soup was lovely just under seasoned for my taste buds, and the chicken breast might look better sliced, and there was no stuffing with it on trio of meats and there was a bit of blood inside the breast still which was inedible, maybe slicing it through would prevent it being undercooked and dry and it would look nicer on the plate, just a suggestion. The seasoning could be slightly increased on the veg itself, but portion wise, it was very generous and reasonably priced. Very pleasant. I did like the decanter lights!! They looked incredible 😍

We went on a Monday evening when the mains are half price. Honestly, the food was great, and even better value for money, although it might have been a different story had we paid full price, then the value for money thing would have been out of the window. The location is quite nice, the pub itself was clean and tidy and a lovely place to eat, loads of seating and some nice covered outside seating too. The staff were lovely and attentive.
