    Buyer beware! My wife had an offer accepted by the developer of Hertford Brewery, White Hart Developments, in October 2019 and paid her deposit, both sides agreeing to complete by 31 January 2020. Then after unexplained delays, in early February 2020, 1 week before exchange, White Hart reneged on the deal and said they would not exchange unless my wife agreed to pay them a much higher price than what had already been agreed 3 months earlier. Having already given notice on the place that she lived, and faced with having nowhere to live, my wife reluctantly offered another £20k, but White Hart said it wasn't enough. She had to walk away having lost thousands of pounds. Every property professional that I have spoken to since has been entirely shocked by this low standard of highly suspect and questionable behaviour. Why anyone would buy a leasehold property from White Hart that will give them a financial hold over you in perpetuity is a total mystery to me. Their developments look nicely done but the business practices of White Hart Developments are wholly undesirable.
