The assessment process for APD is one of a kind, offering the full battery of tests from start to finish in one centre; this is not available anywhere else in the country. However, though the diagnostic process is detailed, its explanation in subsequent reporting is lacking in some ways, particularly where diagnoses are confirmed, and including the possible implications from a driving or employment point of view. Care should be taken in this regard, as other parties will be unwilling to acknowledge the existence of issues arising from this diagnosis when this is simply not the case.

My Initial Telephone enquiry to the Radlett hearing clinic receptionist was very pleasant and helpful as she took time to go through the service available and process to obtain an examination of my ears for wax removal. Good written pre examination information was provided and the need to start olive oil ear drops. On my appointment day I was seen on time by the hearing specialist in clean, bright, professional surroundings. The whole examination process was carried out with good explanation using good visible screen shots of inside my ears and good clear answers to my questions. I felt relaxed and reassured throughout that I was in good professional hands. Although no wax was found in my ears, the technical examinations carried out, the time taken and the cost of the whole consultation process from beginning to end was well worth it together will the healthy knowledge about the inside of my ears!
