Im a mom of 6, i have children with special needs and as much as there are a few really good doctors here you can never get an appointment to be seen at this surgery, its just an awful system they have got going on, I'm not surprised they are loosing so many patients, I my self shall be looking for a better surgery. This one has gone down hill. Which is ashame it used to be a good practice! Wouldn't recommend as you'll highly likely not get seen.

A clinical practitioner told my grandmother that she had ovarian cancer on the sole basis of a blood screen. This was during a home visit, and he called all my family around to "break the news", and we found this devistating. Later in the week my nan was taken to hospital for a different complaint, and informed the doctors of this "diagnosis". The doctors at the hospital have officially complained about this to the surgery. This is absolutely disgusting that a so-called professional would do this. They should be dismissed on the basis of incompetence. He knows he has messed up because he called my Nan, being emphatic about he was on annual leave, saying he was worried about her specifically... After the bogus cancer diagnosis was made and complained about.

I think many people have used the google reviews system to air their frustrations and have a moan about the Harlequin! some of these reviews are unfair and I strongly suspect, untrue. The truth is that Harlequin and its entire staff are under an enormous amount of pressure whilst they do their level best to provide healthcare for the ever increasing local community. I have been a patient of this practice for approximately 9 years and in that time, have not had reason to submit a single complaint. Of course, some of the procedures can be irritating and annoying, but when you combine healthcare with the associated records and then the relevant data protection issues, things become complicated. Now throw in many many prescription requests and lots of poorly people clambering for appointments with GP,s who are in short supply and it should make us all wonder how on earth the front line staff keep smiling. The thorough and prompt attention afforded to both my partner and myself, on the same day as writing this review, was nothing short of excellent and we are both very grateful indeed. I would respectfully suggest that we, as a community should support our health care providers by being courteous and respectful. If they had unlimited appointments I’m sure we’d all get one, if a prescription has gone astray, it’s far more likely to be a genuine mistake than negligence. I believe our patience would be rewarded. The entire staff of The Harlequin Surgery … I salute you all !!!

Impossible to get them to even answer the phone, nevermind get an actual appointment! Why not employ another receptionist to answer calls if they're so busy? Disgraceful!
