Love the quality of the meat in this place- best I’ve found in north London. The ribeye steaks are just insanely good & the marinated barbecue selection is excellent. Wish they did a bit more in the way of offcuts and bones for stock, particularly veal. Most of the staff are really nice but there’s one older guy who can be a bit patronsing and curt, even if you know exactly what you’re looking for, hence 4 not 5 stars.

It's right in the middle of Muswell Hill, N10 not NW3, just in case you happen to be looking for it in Hampstead! This is an expensive old fashioned high street butcher specialising in visibly hung aged meat particularly bone in beef. I visited primarily to see what a three rib, fore-rib of beef would set me back for a dinner party I was having. I won't tell you what I was quoted but it isn't cheap. The produce on display looked superb and the presentation is impeccable. It's a little out of my price range but they must be doing something rather well to survive in this difficult time. I would say it is comparable with going to Smithfield if you can, and buying your beef from one of the butchers in the meat market.

Just moved back to the area and was looking for a local butcher to buy some beef liver. Found this place which looked great from the outside. I went in, made eye contact with one of the butchers and asked if they sold beef liver. He quite curtly and rudely said “only for delivery”, he frankly looked annoyed that I’d even ask such a question. I try and treat staff politely as I know what it’s like to work a customer-facing role and was taken aback by the poor customer service. I probably would have ordered some in but his lack of politeness just made me want to leave and shop elsewhere which I did. I have read a lot of the reviews and lack of customer service does seem to crop up quite a lot, just some food for thought.

I ordered some diced venison for click and collect. When I arrived at the store I noticed that my venison was two days past the Use By date. When I raised the issue with the butchers, I was offered to take it away for free. A gentleman standing next to me was just as shocked and reminded the butchers that the meat was 2 days out of date! I'm very disappointed and will look elsewhere to get my wild venison. Thank you.
