FAQ

What time periods and events do your reenactments cover?

Our reenactments cover a wide range of time periods and events, including medieval battles, Viking invasions, and World War II skirmishes. We strive to accurately portray historical events and create an immersive experience for our participants and spectators.

How are the reenactments historically accurate?

We work closely with historians and experts in each time period to ensure that our reenactments are as historically accurate as possible. We use authentic costumes, props, and weapons and recreate battle tactics and strategies based on historical records. We also provide educational materials and presentations to help participants and spectators better understand the historical context of each event.

What kind of costumes and props do you provide for participants?

We provide a range of costumes and props depending on the time period and event. For medieval battles, we provide chainmail, leather armor, and helmets, while for World War II reenactments we provide uniforms and replica weapons. We also provide tents, cooking equipment, and other historical props to create an immersive experience for participants.

Are participants allowed to bring their own costumes and props?

Yes, participants are allowed to bring their own costumes and props as long as they are historically accurate and approved by our staff. We encourage participants to research and create their own costumes and props to add to the authenticity of the event.

How are safety and security ensured during the reenactment events?

We take safety and security very seriously and have strict protocols in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We provide safety briefings before each event and have trained staff on hand to monitor the activities and ensure that all participants follow safety guidelines. We also have first aid facilities on site and emergency procedures in place in case of any incidents.

Went to a music event there and because it was a seated event you had a load of grumpy old people telling you off because you were singing. I felt sorry for the band because of this - imagine performing to a 'dead' audience.. We ended up leaving our seats and going off to the side so we could enjoy, sing and dance. What I would recommend to the venue is have the pull out bench seats at the back for people who want to sit and use the front seated part as a standing area, so the people that actually go to enjoy the music can feel comfortable and make a better amotsphere.

What a delightful venue! Ancient Halls around every corner! We attended a music event in the biggest hall and the acoustics were good. Most of the seats were on the flat, though, so a bit tricky to see all of the stage. Good bar extended to a vacant Hall selling wine and cans. More than sufficient very helpful volunteers. Good, modern toilets. Other Halls are used for corporate events and meetings.

Lovely very old, dark architectural setting,.. convenient for St. Andrews multistory parking and town centre. Not a very large hall .. so for the vintage show we visited, it did not seem worth the £2.50 entry fee.
