A wonderful restricted access oasis in the City of London just south of Old Street tube Station. Home to The Honorable Artillery Company, a venerated Reserve Force unit, Armoury House and its grounds are the envy of every Military organisation and social club in London. It's facilities and green field are historic and well maintained. For those lucky people who use it socially the super public rooms house a great bar and wonderful dining rooms. The food is excellent too.

I visited here for Whisky Live, a four hour Whisky tasting session with distilleries from around the world. This proved to be a good location providing an interesting and colourful background to the event. Particularly striking was the stained glass window on the staircase, a memorial to members of the company that died in World War One. A cloakroom was in use downstairs, not a problem on arrival, but a little tricky after spending four hours tasting about 30 whiskys, many of which were over 60% proof. 🤪
