Food wasn't great at all, in fact far from it We both had the burger and chips. At £18.50 each, we expected great things. How disappointing. Pattie was dry and tasteless, so little cheese you couldn't taste it, brioche bun wasn't toasted at all. Coupled with a piece of lettuce and burnt bacon, and chips that were too salty, it was worthy of £9.00 max. Mcdonalds burgers have more taste than these do. Advised the manager/landlady, but no discount or refund even offered. All she said is that she would order herself one and try it...... Won't be retuning that's for sure.

Cosy pub full of history with friendly, knowledgeable staff. We ran in here to escape the rain, only planning on staying for a quick drink… ended up ordering food and staying for a snug afternoon by the fire as we couldn’t pull ourselves away. A total gem in a beautiful setting.
