FAQ
What is the teacher-to-student ratio in your Montessori classrooms?
At The Gower School Montessori Nursery, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio to ensure personalized attention and support for each child. Our ratio is 1:8 for children aged 3-5 and 1:4 for toddlers aged 2-3.How do you incorporate technology into your Montessori curriculum?
We believe in a hands-on, experiential approach to learning rather than relying on technology in the classroom. However, we do use technology as a tool to enhance learning opportunities outside the classroom, such as online resources and educational apps for children to use at home.Do you offer any after-school programs or extracurricular activities for students?
Yes, we offer a range of after-school clubs and activities for our students, including music, dance, and sports. These programs provide opportunities for children to explore their interests and develop their skills outside of the Montessori curriculum. How do you assess student progress and provide feedback to parents?
We use a variety of methods to assess student progress, including observation, work journals, and standardized assessments. We provide regular feedback to parents through parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and daily updates through our communication app. What is your approach to discipline and classroom management in the Montessori environment?
We believe in fostering a supportive, respectful environment where children feel empowered to make choices and take responsibility for their actions. Our approach to discipline is to guide and redirect behavior through positive reinforcement, modeling, and clear expectations, rather than punishment. We also encourage open communication between teachers, parents, and children to address any issues that may arise.Reviews

We have two children at the Gower School. Our first son has been there for two years and our second son just completed two most amazing years at the Gower Nursery, before recently starting at the school. We can't speak highly enough of both the nursery and the school. Our sons have grown in confidence and are happy children who have made great friends and grown fond of their teachers and learning. In terms of teaching, the children are provided with an excellent all round experience and we are delighted with their progress in a nurturing environment. This is reflected in the children who are confident, well rounded and enthusiastic learners. The school has great extracurricular activities including tennis, swimming, music, art etc. The after school clubs are well organised and filled with wonderful opportunities. We love being part of the school because it truly feels like family. We have met some wonderful people through the school who we would now call close friends. We are happy to speak to any prospective parents that would like further information.

I couldn’t speak more highly about this amazing nursery. The teachers are wonderful and my daughter gained so much confidence and so many skills from being there. I was always kept up to date on her progress and they would regularly make cards and gifts for her to bring some.

I highly recommend The Gower School. Our daughter was there for 3 years (2019-2022) and she loved it. The level of pastoral care is exceptional. A special thanks to Miss Smyth, Mr Kamal and Mrs Menaldo, all of whom were instrumental in creating a stimulating, nurturing and happy environment for our little girl.

I absolutely love this nursery! My daughter joined it when she was 1y 4m and settled in pretty quickly. All staff in Le Petit Canards group is amazing: very supportive, attentive, kind and polite. Whenever I need a help (for example with sleep or behavior) I can 100% rely and trust my daughter’s key person and the Head of the Room, as they give me good advices. Honestly, I feel like my daughter is in the best room with the best staff. She’s learning A LOT there: songs, words, numbers, and good behavior. She knows how to support other kids when they are upset and give them a hand when they ask for a help. I feel like us (parents) and this nursery are working together to raise her. They really care about every single child in this group and their unique personality. Lots of fun activities as well: festival of colours, picnics, weekly forest school,.. I don’t have words to describe how happy are with this nursery and especially Le Petit Canards group. My only wish would be if they can make outdoor play in the garden (by the way which is quite large and fantastic designed) a bit longer or at least twice a day, as I feel like 30 min outdoor play a day is not enough for a toddler. Hope this will be improved after COVID situation.

If we hadn't have left London our child would still be at the Gower nursery. They provide a fantastic Montessori focussed environment for the children and you can literally feel the love the people have for the children in their care. It's a very special place and staff are phenomenal.
