This enterprise run by Vikki and Roger really is a gem to have in Worthing. A one stop place for not just materials and lovely silks but also for immersive learning where you can use a supplied sewing machine working under Vikki who teaches in the best way... by encouraging you to use your initiative to work out your own answers, rather than telling you how to do everything, which is then so easy to forget. I had wanted to display items for my own use, for customers use and for actual sale. I needed a display medium that was easy for me to make, (no skills), easy for me to source, (no complicated seeking out of difficult to find components) and that didnt cost me too much, (no money). Working in classes with Vikki allowed me to not just learn about sewing, (no experience at all) but also allowed me to tap her really amazing broad based skills in colour, balance, ease of manufacture and ease of use. No point in having a display medium thats hard work to use or miserable to look at. We have ended up with a grey board card, backed and lined and then a lined front, sewn on. It is so very easy to mount the articles to be displayed. A few lessons and i have now got a sewing machine that is, for me, the entrance key to what is clearly a vast and wonderful area of creativity. A whole new world. But it only gets better at the Good Stitch lessons since Roger is the Guru for machine care, maintenance and which machine is for you and why. Rogers encouragement for me to shop around for an old machine to learn on, has given me the confidence to buy one i found online. I have just loved your start up classes and no doubt at all I will be attending more, its quite unique to feel so well protected in such a new field of expertise. Thank you both very very much for your friendly, fact filled and truly productive learning experience.

Have just returned from a Zips Masterclass at The Good Stitch this morning. I have learnt so much, enjoyed myself immensely, and would thoroughly recommend this little gem. Vicki and Roger were so welcoming, and if the odd stitch went awry (which of course it did :D) it was resolved patiently and supportively. I just hope I can find a pattern I like which has a zip in it - and I never thought Iād say that!

I attended the introduction to sewing class this morning and it was fab! Having had a sewing machine stored away in the cupboard for several years, I now feel confident in digging it out and having a go. I plan to return soon to put my new found skills to use and try to make a tote bag. Vicky and Rodger at the Good Stitch are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about all things sewing related! I received my class as a gift from my husband and would thoroughly recommend it to others.

Absolutely love popping by the good stitch and saying hi to Vicki & Roger and also seeing what fabrics I can give a new home. Highly recommend popping here over places that are constantly buying in new fabric as it's a lot better for the environment when you're buying fabrics that either had another life or were no longer being used aka deadstock. Vicki also runs great workshops too. I've had so many great finds from there ā¤ļø

The Good Stitch is a lovely local shop offering sustainable dead stock fabrics, haberdashery, sewing workshops and classes and an interesting selection of sustainable gifts. The owners are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I would defo recommend popping in for a browse.
