My husband and I visited the shop on Sunday 23rd April, we had a small amount of gold and silver and a couple of questions that we wanted to ask about a couple of pieces. The young man who “served” us was dismissive and uninterested, we felt he just wanted us to go away. He was quite rude about a fellow jewellery retailer saying the job he had done was poor and the replacement stones in the ring would fall out again, of course I will take this up with the retailer, but did find his comments unprofessional, however also thank him for the opportunity to check this out. Some of our items were sentimental value only, I understand that, but please don’t be rude about people’s possessions however insignificant they may be to you, they are significant to the person. Next February we will have been married for 50 years and I am to have a new wedding ring, we couldn’t bring ourselves to even ask about purchasing one from you although along with selling items we no longer used, that was the object of our visit. What should have been an exciting time looking for a new ring, turned into an awful experience. I looked at the reviews before deciding where to go, I did read the 1 star but 5 was the majority, my review will join the 1 star. Respect and humility triumphs over arrogance and puffed up attitudes in the end, when you feel you are better than everybody else the universe has a way of showing you are not, we really are all the same, money/possessions do not define a person, humility and kindness does. What fantastic service! This is a proper jewellers, staffed by experts who are focussed on your needs and not just on selling you the most expensive product. They helped us find the perfect eternity ring and sized that, resized my wife’s wedding ring and cleaned and polished her engagement ring, all for no extra charge. On top of that they gave me a generous military discount. Although we live over an hour away this will become our jewellers of choice. I cannot recommend The Goldmarket highly enough!

We went to the Goldmarket after being shocked at the extortionate quote we were given from the jewellers that we purchased the ring from to replace a Diamond in an Eternity ring. We came across the Goldmarket and although we were initially sceptical we needn't have been as Matt carried out the work in a very professional manner at a fraction of the cost. Matt also resized two platinum rings that had always been too small. We are so pleased at the repair and will use them in the future.
