Ok place for a pint but food only served to residents on Saturday night (apparently chef walked out) so not even a bowl of chips. 7pm in Horton in Ribblesdale no food in town, so nearest food 6 miles away in Settle and no one delivers. Hope they get it sorted or sell up soon. Food & drinks: No food available on some days, check before leaving to eat as it's here The Crown or a trip into Settle.

Shocking for food!! We arrived for a pre booked table with 12 covers for 8pm. Though they had no note of the booking. When we arrived they told us there would be an hour's wait for food which we were comfortable with. However, after an hour and half there was no sign of food. When one of the staff was asked how much longer it would be we were told " it will take as long as it takes, that's how it is". When food did arrive 2 dishes were cold, one main and one side was missing. The time was now 10pm...... When we complained they didn't seem to care and made absolutely no attempt to make our experience better. The only saving grace was the bar staff (excluding the rude one) who were trying their best in a bad management situation. Bearing in mind the main stay of this pub is people on holiday or those doing 3 Peaks challenge it was shocking how bad the service was. In all my reviews (and I am rated in the top 10% of Google reviewers) I have never had to leave such a bad review. Wholly disappointed with this pub as a place to eat. Overall way too expensive for what was served. McDonald's is hotter and a hell of a lot cheaper, plus tastier. Nearby activities: Yorkshire 3 peaks. But don't visit this place. Food & drinks: Terrible. Over-priced, burnt, worst service I have ever known. Noteworthy details: Awful.

Hands down the worst eating experience I've ever had. Despite booking the table well in advance, we were told we would have to wait up to an hour for our food. An hour comes and still no food, when asking where it is, turns out a group of 35 had come in and were given priority. When will our food be ready? We don't know. Can you ask the chef? No. Can you give us an idea of when it will be out? Your food will be ready when it's ready, that's how we do things here. Finally the food comes out in drips after about an hour and 3 quarters and the quality is awful, things are cold, missing, and the managers response, oh well at least we got half of it right! Our group spent over £300 there and we would have had a better time and better food at McDonald's and setting fire to the rest of the cash

Awful management, awful food. Booked in advance for food and still took an hour and a half to get served a £15 burger I would've been disappointed to pay £5 for. Sides turned up after 2 hours. No refund of any kind offered, if you've finished the 3 peaks just drive into Settle. If you can't service the tables you have booked, don't open your kitchen.

The staff were wonderful very friendly. But the food was lacking in all honesty the meat patty in my burger was pretty much burnt with no flavour. The bun disintegrated in my hands and the cheese was easily cheapest you could get from the shops.

We stayed here for a single night, but during this time I have seen enough to clearly state that I do not recommend anyone to go here. The owner of the place is not welcoming to the guests at all. Also, the way she treats her staff is disrespectful.

Went for a pint after a very long (38km) walk. Poor customer service from the (presumably) owner ruined the experience, would recommend delaying your walk and going to the other pub which opened at 5:30pm. Although bar staff nice and pints good although expensive.

Relatively dingy pub, just walked 38km and definitely didn’t have the energy to put up with an extremely unreasonable owner.
