I feel I have to share my experience at this pub as it is not what you expect for such a beautiful location that walkers frequent. We were a group of 15 walking to raise funds for MND, we were in a 16 mile round trip and thought we would call in to have a well deserved drink. On our arrival a chap in a suit I assume was the Manager told us he was going to a wedding and that we could not be served food as there were too many of us as again he was going to a wedding. So we were happy to just have refreshments, we sat in the benches in the car park out of the way of the reserved wedding guests pre drinks. I decided as we couldn’t eat I would tuck into my sandwich I had packed to have later on knowing we were walking until 6pm. I was rudely approached by said man in suit and told how rude and disrespectful it was to eat in an establishment that offered food!!!! So do you still want your drinks ??? He served our drinks and then said you will have to sort them out as he didn’t have time he was going to a wedding 🤣 I knew this I’d been told!! I won’t go into anymore details as the above says it all. Very rude. Beware walkers. Food & drinks: See above review.

The rooms were basic and could have been cleaner. They weren’t worth the cost. The landlord seemed cross when we didn’t want to eat there. £7.50 for a packed lunch of sandwich (cheap bread), twix, apple and packet of crisps was very expensive.
