2022 Was looking forward to having a meal there. Arrived and found it was closed until 3 pm for a private function. Came back at 5 pm and were unable to get a table for food or even a drink. The location is just next door to the ferry terminal at Yarmouth. It is in a nice location with the outdoor garden well laid out. Shame we could not enjoy the ambience of the place, hence the lower rating . Maybe next time. June 2023 Here we are a year later and finally got into the George for a lunchtime meal. Booked to have it in the restaurant as weather forecast was a bit dodgy. Had a great meal. As we left and the forecast rain receeded the outside area was packed with music and everyone seemed relaxed and happy. I believe the hotel is dog friendly but not in the main indoor restaurant. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Food & drinks: Had and fabulous lunchtime meal. The hostess (her name escapes me) in the restaurant was most helpful and attentive. The food was excellent.

Horrendous coffee that seemed to be lacking any coffee and was just hot milk. Over priced and not good service!

The review is for restaurant only. High prices for what was offered. Tuna and beef tartar brough without any bread or anything else, nicoise salad was not really a nicoise salad (was more of a vegetable salad with tuna and boiled eggs). The seafood platter was very disappointing, not "huge" as described initially, and again, no bread offered, no bowl to clean hands. Ended up paying £6 extra for 6 slices of bread... The wine was not served, it was placed on the table, and we served ourselves. We appreciated the main server's attitude and understood that they may not decide the menu, however, given the prices, the actual portions and offer should reflect that. The food was good, but not that great to justify the prices and the portions. Staff was very polite. Food & drinks: High prices

A wonderful location, the garden is definitely the place to be. I didn't expect to hear England Dan & John Ford Coley, Gino Vanelli, Stephen Bishop and Ray Parker Junior on the playlist over lunch. Just my kind of place to hang.

Beautiful place. Food not to my taste but for those who like something different and are happy to pay for it then give it a go. Food & drinks: Quite pricey and the food will not be to everyone's taste
