This is pretty appalling, students were evicted and told to leave within a few days because they didn’t meet fire regulations. Not only was it hazardous but the impact on the students mental health during this settling in period for their first year in uni. And once they have finally managed to find a new place they’re charging them for that time spent in the accommodation! As a parent of one of these students I am flabbergasted. They should not get away with it!

I know people who stayed here (student accommodation), flats not too bad and quieter than I was expecting. Everyone who lived here in the year 2022/23, however, were evicted with minimal notice after the building failed a fire safety assessment. Disgusting treatment by the University accommodation services and obvious failings by building company Jackson & Jackson left building residents in massive distress. They must not be allowed to get away with this and someone must be held accountable.
