I went with 5 friends two weeks ago on Saturday evening and while they welcomed us without booking which was a good surprise, the portions were tiny for the price paid and the staff did not seem particularly experienced.

Beef Sunday roast was lackluster. Thin slice of sirloin which was 50% fat. Potatoes were ok but barely roasted. Yorkshire pudding was big but really crispy and overdone. Gravy was watery. Not worth £23 pounds in the slightest. The starter, Ox croquette was decent.

The food was average, maybe a bit overpriced for what it is. Found the front staff was extremely rude. Slow services but still have to return the table within 2 hours. Not a pleasant experience tbh and wont return.

Went back to Garrison after a few years away as I don't come to this area as much these days. Food was decent, but overpriced for a gastro pub in my opinion; my mate and I ended up spending £110 each, though we did have two bottles of wine I thought this was toppy. The mackerel starter was nice, but the Singapore half crab was close to impossible to eat without coating myself, my friend and half the pub in red sauce due to it being served in the shell. Waitress was good fun and attentive.

Not bad. Our food was lukewarm but it tasted ok. Slightly pretentious shabby chic. Very kind staff. Decent enough and would come back.
