I recently visited The Foundry Bell in Wokingham for the first time, as it is conveniently located near our home. Initially, the restaurant appeared to have potential as a go-to place for us. However, my overall experience left much to be desired. First and foremost, I was taken aback by the policy of having to pay in advance at the bar when dining outside. Although this was not the main issue, it did seem like an unnecessary inconvenience. We decided to order the steak cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the steak was far from what we expected. Not only was it overcooked, but it was also served with a sauce that resembled vomit and tasted unpleasant too, beef dripping and bearnaise does not go together!!! Furthermore, the accompanying mashed potatoes were lumpy and lacked proper consistency. To make matters worse, the salad, which was supposed to contain feta cheese, did not actually have feta cheese in it. Considering the prices charged, the quality of the food was truly disappointing. What should have been an enjoyable dining experience turned out to be the worst meal I have ever had. Additionally, throughout our meal, no staff member bothered to inquire about the food or clear our plates once we had finished. Overall, my visit to The Foundry Bell fell short of expectations. The subpar food, lackluster service, and the fact that we had already paid in advance for such an underwhelming experience left me extremely dissatisfied. I sincerely hope that the restaurant addresses these issues to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for its customers

First time visiting the Foundry recently and I was very surprised. Was expecting good food and service but the team really blew it out of the water. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and attentive - especially with the special dietary requirements of some of our party. Cannot wait to go back again and cannot recommend enough! Thank you.

Food was really good quality wise. Pricey for starters though. Service was slow on the night we went. It was also boiling in there and it was only May. . . Wine is quite pricey too although very nice. Waiting and bar team were all lovely but duty manager a little odd. . .
