Not impressed with this place at all! We thought we’d try it as an alternative to our usual haunts but in all Honesty, we won’t be going back to TFE! We had the Hathi special grill and it wasn’t worth the money! The portion size wasn’t big enough (compared to its competitors) and given the price we expected more food or at least better quality/tasting food. All of the dishes tasted the same, clearly the same batter all round. One person in our party was still hungry after the meal to the point they said let’s order more food but then we thought there’s no point given the food isn’t tasty enough to warrant spending more money. Appreciate the venue has replied to other critical reviews citing those customers didn’t complain at the time but what would the venue have done in all honesty?! Yes our plates were emptied but only because we were hungry and paid for it! Given the current cost of living crisis we certainly weren’t going to see food go to waste! One of our party is also vegetarian and even he said the vegetation food was below average. The best two things were the naan and masala chips - says it all really!

firstly staff messed up my order, got charged for the completely wrong things, and when they tried to fix it still didn’t end up getting refunded correctly , so was overcharged by £5. The salad on the menu said it came with dressing cheese and avocado but had nothing so was just dry chicken and lettuce, was absolutely disgusting and ended up leaving it all. Staff are clueless and didn’t help at all.

I come to the flying elephant alot with my family My son plays outside and the staff are all really good with him. The food is always hot and so tasty (our favourite is the chilli prawns). There is never a long wait for food and nothing is ever too much trouble.

We visited the Flying Elephant yesterday (24/05/23) had a lovely evening, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The setting is lovely and the children really enjoyed playing out in the back garden (a play area would make it even better) Emma behind the bar was friendly and welcoming, the other staff were also great, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely be returning and looking forward to some lovely summer afternoons there. Kid-friendliness: A play area (only needs something small, maybe a swing and slide set) would make it even nicer for the kids, happy kids make happy parents, which means we would stay longer.
