Normally a good sports pub but had to walk out just now because the manager decided to turn over the last day of the Premier league live game in mid flow, because somebody ask to see the Carlisle vs Stockport after match celebrations! Shocking absolutely Shocking! Please train the manager ASAP the difference between important live sport and no mark not live after game non sport!!

Remember this is a pub. It can be busy. It is quite cheap compared to many in its menu pricing... Sometimes there is a wait. If there are a lot of people ordering food and you did not book in advance, you may have a bit of a wait... If there's lots of you, always tell them so they can organise! Updated May 2023. Went for lunch fairly quiet, food came quickly, just as it was advertised... all good.

In its current dingy form with dark paint and too many big screens showing irrelevant sport (that most customers show no interest in) it feels like a hollow and soulless void rather than a spacious and salubrious venue. Staff are very helpful and friendly, menu involves the usual burgers and chips, which are always tasty. With a little redecoration & thought this place could be outstanding. Update May 2022: After a timely redecoration it looks barely any different. The staff are still lovely. It's faster to order from the table-service app than to go to the bar, where inexplicably, there is an orderly queue rather than the usual British style where punters all approach the bar, take turns to order and talk to each other ). Update May 2023: much the same. Tonight irrelevant sportsball played whilst a man with a too-quiet guitar tried to entertain people who'd gone there to talk. It's a pub with no clear direction.

There is a nice outdoor space for enjoying your food and smoking area. The prices are reasonable and members of staff are helpful and friendly. I usually take a Guiness and BBQ wings and enjoy it outside on the bench.
