This used to be a great pub but no longer is. The service was extremely slow, despite very few people in the restaurant. When the starters finally arrived, all the portions were extremely small, especially for the prices charged. After an even much longer wait for the mains, several of these had the same problem. It is not uncommon these days to see places increase prices or reduce portion sizes. The Fisherman's Haunt have creatively done both. The quality of the food ranged from decent to downright awful. Worst offender was the special of the day of jerk chicken with rice and beans. There was no real flavour to the coating of the three tiny pieces of chicken wing and the rice/bean configuration was both lukewarm and very badly flavoured. Service was mostly extremely slow, except for the man who randomly showed up and removed the plates from two of us when we had finished before the rest of the table. Our regular waitress came when we had all finished and removed two more plates, only not too reappear until after we had moved the remaining plates to a different table after ten minutes of waiting. When the poor quality food was mentioned, no apology or even acknowledgment of the issue was given. It is bad enough that they do not know how to run a decent pub, but the fact that the staff did not seem to care was shocking. This used to be one of my favourite pubs but with such disastrous service, tiny but expensive portions and rather poot quality food, we shall take our business elsewhere in the future. Fortunately, there are still places it there that care about giving their customers a good experience. Food & drinks: As per the main review, the food service is awful and the food itself mediocre. Find somewhere else to eat.

We stayed at The Fisherman’s Haunt for our wedding weekend, and the team looked after us so well throughout. The rooms were perfect for our wedding party. We had a big meal for 22 the night before the big day and the food plus service was perfect. Everything we needed was catered for. Thank you! Went for dinner. Food generally good but the cabbage with the fish pie was decidedly average. Looked like it had hung around for a while. Shame, otherwise good and very friendly.
