I contacted The Fireplace and they passed me to Graham Pell to sort out my gas fire. He found out that the chimney was crumbling into the house. It is now reconstructed and all is working well. I am happy. Graham was helpful in explaining everything to me and my neighbour and minimised disruption in carrying out the work. I have no problem in recommending him.

First class service, I would recommend 'The Fireplace' Ilford to anyone. Jerry and Graham (the proprietors) are knowledgeable, helpful and meticulous with their work. More importantly, the proprietors have great respect for their customers and demonstrate manners and humility - traits that are few are far between these days. Despite having more local fireplace fitters, we picked 'The Fireplace' Ilford for the reasons described. 'The Fireplace' Ilford delivered on what was promised, within the agreed time frames and at a competitive price. Well done!

My biggest mistake was giving this company any business after the initial dealings with the lady who 'covers' the shop. She knows nothing about the business, or the products, and has zero customer service skills (to the point where she is rude, unhelpful and obstructive) and treats you like she's doing you a big favour by you bringing business to the shop. The owners don't seem to realise that we can get anything online, and they should therefore better understand the importance of taking care of their customers. A small, simple job ( replacing the glass in a stove fire door) took far longer than necessary and involved constant chase ups. Worse still, it was given back in a sub standard state (my 9 year old niece could have done a better job) with white 'fire rope' that looked like cotton wool sticking out everywhere. It now has to be re-done as a result. This business ignores the obvious that any small job can potentially bring in bigger jobs and recommendations. I would not use this company again nor recommend it. My one star rating is actually too generous.
