I thoroughly enjoyed Jay's Pattern Cutting course. I learnt many technical dressmaking skills which gave me the confidence to explore various sewing projects. Jay's patience and knowledge is second to none. Her wealth of experience, from working in various fashion houses to creating her own fashion label, is not to be missed. Anyone signing up to her course will be inspired. This course really opened up the possibility of making so many items for me.

I highly recommend the Fashion Loop. I started with the beginners sewing and pattern cutting course and after a break came back to learn how to adjust and make from commercial patterns. I have learnt so much, from how to use a sewing Machine doing basic seems to making fly fronts and adjusting a pattern to my measurements. These courses are comprehensive and a must for anyone wanting to produce quality handmade garments.

I decided to do a year long course with Jay to improve my sewing skills. Although I have sewn since young, it was always a bit hit and miss with my results. I have learned so much from her, much of which I never knew. She is extremely patient and has a wealth of knowledge that just makes you want to learn more. I have discovered the joy of cutting bought patterns so they actually fit your shape and everything looks professional now, rather than home made. I love her classes and decided to continue with another one. Highly recommend her as a tutor and am grateful for all she has taught me.

I cannot recommend Jay and her Fashion Loop classes enough. I initially completed the pattern cutting course where Jay covered everything from dart manipulation to making bespoke blocks, something I have never found offered on sewing courses anywhere (other than on a 3 year fashion degree). Jay's classes were well paced and delivered with incredible passion and most importantly, patience. No matter how stupid the question, Jay would never flinch but take the time to explain until you were happy and understood. Jay's depth of knowledge from many years of experience is second to none. I loved the course so much that on it's completion, I immediately booked another one with Jay. Whether you are looking to learn the basics or take your sewing to a whole new level, Jay and The Fashion Loop are all you will need.

I loved Jay’s Pattern Cutting course. Over the time of the course , I learned so much about pattern cutting - as well as increasing my confidence in sewing and dressmaking in general. After learning about the fundamentals of dart manipulation , we then made our own bespoke patterns blocks which we could use to adapt existing patterns to fit us properly and create our own designs. This was a turning point on my sewing journey for me ! Jay is the most patient and kind of tutors. Numerous times she helped us with sewing projects we were working on and treated us to the benefit of her expertise and a masterclass in sewing skills. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Fashion Loop; her insights into the fashion industry are fascinating ! We were always eager to hear her stories of working for some of the greats in London and creating her own beautiful fashion label. In a nutshell , if you wish to seriously improve your technical dressmaking skills while experiencing some lovely mindfulness as well , you can do no better than sign up to a Fashion Loop course with Jay .

I spent a couple of years with Jay teaching me how to sew. I had never used a sewing machine when I met her and she gave me a good knowledge base to start my sewing career. It is also great to go to her classes for the social side of things, meeting new people etc... would highly recommend 👌
