FAQ

What are the qualifications and experience of the general practitioners at your practice?

At The Everglade Medical Practice, all of our general practitioners are fully qualified and registered with the General Medical Council. They have extensive experience in providing primary healthcare services to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, our doctors regularly undergo further training and development to ensure that they are up-to-date with the latest medical practices and technologies.

What kind of medical services are offered at your practice?

We offer a wide range of medical services at The Everglade Medical Practice, including general health check-ups, chronic disease management, women's and men's health, mental health, immunizations, and travel health consultations. We also provide minor surgical procedures, such as mole removal and wound management, on-site.

What is the process for making appointments and how long is the wait time?

To make an appointment at our practice, you can either call us or book online through our website. We offer both same-day and advance appointments, and we do our best to accommodate urgent cases as quickly as possible. Our wait times vary depending on the type of appointment and the availability of our doctors, but we always strive to see our patients in a timely manner.

Are there any out-of-pocket expenses for patients or is the practice bulk-billed?

At The Everglade Medical Practice, we are a bulk-billing practice, which means that our services are provided at no cost to our patients who hold a valid Medicare card. However, there may be some out-of-pocket expenses for certain medical procedures or tests that are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance. Our reception staff can provide you with more information on these costs.

How does your practice manage referrals to specialists if needed?

If one of our general practitioners determines that a patient requires specialist care, they will provide a referral to an appropriate specialist. We work closely with a network of trusted specialists in the local area, and we can provide our patients with a list of recommended providers. Our doctors will also ensure that all relevant medical information is passed on to the specialist to ensure continuity of care.

Do not respond to formal complaints. Utterly shambolic management. Avoid like the plague. Three months on from my previous posting and yet again the same rude and grumpy receptionist (white middle aged woman) on the phone insisting that I must use eConsult to book my GP appointment even though I told her that the system is down. I explained to her that the system was down and asked her to book me an appointment. She rudely insisted that I must use eConsult despite having told her that the system was down. I have used eConsult many times before and I am not computer illiterate! Her response/behaviour is completely unacceptable especially when the practice website clearly lists 4 options for non-urgent appointments, option no. 4 being "Call the Practice, Appointments can be booked by calling the practice during working hours". So why did she refuse to book my appointment? This woman needs serious training and should look up to and aspire to be as professional as her colleagues of Asian heritage who are the politest and most helpful receptionists I have come across in a long time. There are many more practices in the catchment area so it comes as no surprise that I have already registered elsewhere. Previously posted: Rude and patronising receptionist. The recent improvement in attitude was predictably short lived. Senior management have a long way to go to get this practice and their customer facing staff up to scratch.

Horrible surgery ever ! You keep calling from tgr morning to get appointment and end up hearing the receptionist saying no appointments left for today all the time ...but how every day the same story ? Don't they have someone to help patient who calls all the week from morning to get help ,it's only telephone appointment for few minutes and yet that not available if we call in row all the week ! So what else should we do

Been with the practice my whole life receptionists are rude, can't book appointments, don't want to help. I asked to speak to a manager was told they don't take calls what kind of manager doesn't deal with complaints about your rude staff *UPDATE* the practice manager Natalie called me for a 30 minute argument when all I wanted to do was to book an appointment with my gp. Guess what still no appointment.

Very poor service. No humanity at all!Its been ages since covid restrictions are over but they are still unable to provide face to face appointments to anyone…They offer appointments on the day only and if you have long term issues you will NEVER GET AN APPOINTMENT!If you somehow succeed to get appointment it won’t be face to face and doctor will call UNKNOWN TIME between 9-5 and if Doctor thinks it’s suitable, only than patient will be able to see doctor. Very poor and time wasting surgery!!!!!if they can’t serve patients why are they registering patients with them!!!Worst Gp surgery I have ever seen

Terrible! They mistaken my name at appointments even though they have checked my DOB, address and mobile number. The doctor sent me the text with an obvious wrong name and title (Mr instead of Miss). I didn’t realise until I went to pharmacy for my prescription and they told me there’s no record. Called twice afterwards and the receptionist said I have never made an appointment nor talked to any doctors nor called to the service… i hope this will resolve and get my medicine soon!!!

This medical practice is so unprofessional and ridiculous, they are rude to their patients and don't know how to do their jobs!!! Don't waste your time here, all they reply with is "your feedback means a lot we will sort it out" but nothing changes. So unworthy

Very rude, I suggest the NHS close this center. The receptionist answers very rudely. Poor management and indifferent to patients. I don't know how they are allowed to deal with patients in this country with this behavior

Avoid like a plague, never answer phone, rude receptionist, can never get an appointment, refused to give me a when I had a lump which turned out to be a tumour, after 30 years I’ve left them and found a better place. Dr Lipman and nurse Willi would have been so disappointed with this place
