Such a awful we had on Friday night, we went in a group around 10 of us after work but our experience was very disappointing. Staff was miserable, specially one in particular made us feel so unwelcome. Food was horrible such a waste of money, the beef burger was so dry no sauce no cheese, we went back and they gave us some unmelted cheese with some disgusting 🤮 BBQ sauce.. we couldn’t eat it.. the lasagna was tasteless and the garlic bread was so so hard.

Awful experience and such a shame as we’ve been here a few times. I wouldn’t recommend this pub to any friends or family. The miserable staff, dirty tables & awful food which resulted to 3/4 adults having very upset Tummy’s all evening has left us with no other option but to report this in a review. So sad but this pub needs serious help and a food inspection.

I have been to this pub many times and I can only remember good experiences. The pub has a lovely vibe and amazing fish and chips, it's also child friendly.

My husband and I have been going to The Essex Arms for many years. Today we went there for lunch as a treat, drank half our drinks and then left. They hadn't got the grill turned on , so no grilled food. Really disappointed as it means no mixed grill, my husbands favourite. Came away really unhappy as going out for us is very, very rare, because my husband is very frail and ill. Goodness knows if we will get the chance again.
