We have now had three stoves installed in Estate properties. Excellent service, competitive prices and good work. The installers were excellent - very pleasant, clean and tidy and carried out the work to the timescales advised. We would be happy to deal with this local, family run business again. Service: General repairs & installation

My Mother has been using this family business for over the last 40 years or so. Mainly for Monumental headstones, gold lettering and marble headstone borders. The service has always been excellent, professional, very responsive and real quality workmanship. Just this week my Mum had installed a new gas fire. The whole process was great, from visiting the showroom to getting it installed. Installers were excellent, very clean, tidy and respectful, using covers etc very clean job. Good quality workmanship and sound experience and advice. Without a doubt our family (mums) experience has been second to none. Nothing is too much of a bother - good family business and very competitive - happily continue to support local family business. Thanks again for everything.

Do not deal with this company!!! I ordered a new granite top from this company with sink, taps etc. Paul assured me that the material would not be porous, that the quote he gave me covered the whole job, including installation and taking everything away. He said that it would be a hassle free experience and everything would be taken care of. Over invoicing, poor workmanship, lying, to name but a few of the ways this operation does business. Here is what happened: 1. When the fitters installed they said they wouldn't put the kitchen back together - hob, etc - as that was a job for a plumber. I called their office and they said they never quote for a full job and that we would need to reassemble the kitchen ourselves. Eventually after many phone calls, Paul admitted that he had quoted for a full job start to finish. They came back and completed the work. 2. The granite was not sealed so water seeped into it and showed up as a stain. Also the fitters left a big oil stain on the surface - it stained because it wasn't sealed. I was told that the marks were normal and that the fitters didn't leave the oil stain - despite me showing the fitters and asking them about it while they were here. I was told that water seeping into granite and staining and oil stains that wouldn't come out are normal - they are not. Eventually they applied a poultice to the granite to remove the oil stain and sealed the granite properly. All this after much back and forth, claiming that I had created the oil stain, saying that water stains on granite is normal and that they really had sealed the granite. Strange then that when they actually sealed it, water doesn't sink in and neither does oil. 3. The fitters broke a drinking water tap when they fitted the counter top. They first said they didn't break it, that it was my responsibility blah, blah. They then sent someone to repair the tap. And then finally replaced it. 4. They over invoiced. Originally they gave me a 100 pound allowance for a sink. This was not taken off my bill. I phoned multiple times to resolve - no reply. Eventually Paul answered the phone and agreed to reduce the bill by 100. I was so aggravated by my experience that I was inclined to ask for a further reduction for the hassle factor. However, I agreed that if they put the 100 pound reduction in writing I would pay so we could move on. Paul agreed. 5. On receiving my final payment, and agreeing that this was final, they invoiced for a further 660 pounds. This for dismantling original tops (all included in quote) and 150 pounds for fixing the water tap that they had broken. The level of hassle involved in this whole transaction has been beyond belief. The first response of Paul and some of his employees is to lie about the issue at hand. I experienced this multiple times. To agree the deal was over, receive the money and then spuriously invoice further is indicative of the type of company Elgin Marble are.
