What is the price range for rooms at your budget Japanese inn?
Our company, The Dundas Arms, is actually not a budget Japanese inn. We are a traditional English pub and hotel located in Hungerford, England. Our room rates vary depending on the time of year and availability, but we strive to offer competitive prices for our guests. How close is the inn to public transportation or major tourist attractions?
As mentioned, we are not a Japanese inn, but rather an English pub and hotel. We are located on Station Road in Kintbury, which is a short walk from the Kintbury train station. This provides easy access to nearby towns and cities such as Newbury and Reading. While we may not be located directly near major tourist attractions, Hungerford and the surrounding areas have plenty of beautiful countryside and historic sites to explore. Are there any specific pet-friendly amenities available at your accommodations, such as designated outdoor areas or walking trails?
We understand that many people like to travel with their furry friends, which is why we offer pet-friendly accommodations in our hotel rooms. However, we do not have any specific pet-friendly amenities such as designated outdoor areas or walking trails. That being said, there are plenty of beautiful countryside walks nearby that both you and your pet can enjoy. What is the check-in and check-out process?
Our check-in time is from 3:00pm onwards and check-out is at 11:00am. If you need to check-in outside of these hours, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members who will check you in and provide you with your room key. When checking out, simply return your key to the front desk and let us know if you require any assistance with transportation or luggage. Are your ingredients locally sourced?
We take pride in using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible in our restaurant. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the freshest produce available in the area. We also have a great selection of local beers and spirits available at our bar.Reviews

Atmosphere and location was beautiful, in the countryside with beautiful surroundings. We were visiting for my birthday and unfortunately the food was terrible. Everyone was order at the bar with little service from the staff there even though it was a Friday night. The starters were ok, however the mains were cold, and unable to eat as they were bland. They didn’t clear away our plates and left us sitting with the food for over an hour after we had clearly finished. The staff did give us money off for the complaint but I wouldn’t recommend, nor would I visit again

Terrible birthday meal and experience. The location is perfect and has a simply stunning waterside garden. However, the food is simply diabolical- I understand they are currently in a transition stage as both waitresses informed us. We were really looking forward to this stay but the food let it down and we will not be returning. Thank you for the discount on our meal and the wine to compensate us. Walkability: Lovely walks along the canal with the dog

The location is great but the service was appalling. The waitress was grumpy and not interested. It took 1/2 hr to get drinks and only then due to the kind intervention of the Housekeeper. The waitress then dropped the tray, breaking a glass and spilling drinks and broken glass into the handbag of one of my guests. Again, it was the housekeeper who sorted us out and moved us to another table. Another 1/2 hr to get food (the housekeeper had to re-take our order as the waitress seemed to have lost it). The food was OK but not gourmet. There was no one else in the dining room, so there was no excuse for this service. The Housekeeper deserves great praise - without her we would still be waiting. Very disappointed.

This pub has just become a Butcombe pub. Food fair, but a little pricey and a bit limited, especially for vegan/veggies. However, so many pubs have increased food prices so maybe this is to be expected. Maybe they will drop a bit when fuel and food prices drop? I doubt it! A little run of the mill perhaps? (That would have been funnier if it was an old mill house..). Nice location.

Lovely spot by the canal with a good choice of beers. Not a bad lunch but the menu felt a little bit limited and when you factor in that you are paying effectively £18.50 for a burger (once you include the 10% service charge) it feels a little expensive for what you get.
